ABOUT ME
Kona, Nalu and I welcome you here!
My name is Kirsten and I believe whole heartedly in the power and potential of human-animal partnerships.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, an Assistant Professor in the Child Youth and Family Studies Department at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada and a canine assisted integration specialist.
In counselling, I focus in child and youth mental health with children ages 3-12 focusing in animal, canine, nature based and play included counselling as well as animal included supervision and consultation.
I have partnered with my two golden retrievers Kona and Nalu for the past ten years across therapeutic, community and education domains to offer 1:1 sessions, groups, workshops, trainings and more. I also work with equine, pigs, goats and miniature horse partners in my work.
I am an internationally recognized speaker in my canine work with children having presented in Portugal, Ireland and across Canada.
I work out of two beautiful locations, Namastables in South Langley and Finding Your Stride in East Mission.
I look forward to hearing from you and sharing the pawsitively awesome power of partnership with canines and other animals.
